‘Marvel’s Jessica Jones’ Gives Us A Release Date Trailer

It’s turning into television trailer day. Netflix has dropped it’s teaser trailer for Marvel’s Jessica Jones it’s follow up to their surprise, breakout hit Daredevil. Let me just tell you up front this trailer is vague as shit. It looks like it should, and might actually be, the shows opening credits. The teaser is filled with purple and orange motion graphics that splash around random images from Jessica Jones world most notably the front door to ALIAS investigations and what looked like a silhouette of Luke Cage bursting throw a window. All in all it is pretty disappointing especially seeing how a release date was finally given and that date is a mere two months away (November 20th). I’m not surprised at Netflix’s secrecy with this. They did the same thing with Daredevil, which seemed to release it’s full trailer about a week or so before the show premiered, so I’m thinking were gonna get the same from Jessica Jones. Here’s the synopsis for the show:

“Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need… especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.”

The show will also be something of precursor to Netflix’s next Marvel series Luke Cage, which will star Mike Colter. They initially planned on making The Defenders with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, but with the addition of The Punisher in Daredevil’s upcoming season many feel that will lead to Punisher getting a show before Iron Fist. Marvel seems to be having trouble getting Iron Fist off the ground, so its no telling where this whole Defenders plan goes. I will definitely be watching Jessica Jones though, as Marvel’s dark cinematic universe continues to grow.

As I mentioned before Marvel’s Jessica Jones premieres on Netflix on November 20th 2015 at 12:01 PST.
