‘Fargo’ Creator Gives Season 3 Details

Fargo-Before-2

If you’ve ever heard me talk TV then you know that I am head over heels in love with the ‘Fargo’ TV series which just wrapped up it’s second season. The show is too brilliant for words, but let me try my best. The show takes elements from the 1996 film of the same name as well as every movie in the Coen brother’s universe. This season took elements from ‘No Country for Old Men’, ‘The Man Who Wasn’t There’, and even a little ‘Raising Arizona’ and blends them perfectly together. The second season, I feel, will stand on it’s own, it will be the stand out season of the show no matter how many seasons it will have. It’s no surprise that me and other fans are itching for season 3, unfortunately we won’t see it until 2017. Series creator and show runner Noah Hawley sat down with Variety to reveal why we have to wait so long:

“It’s a winter show for better or worse. There is not time to shoot another year before this winter is over. It’s also very important to me and my other producers, I think one of the strengths of the show is that we separate the writing from the production and we really take our time and we break the whole story and we write eight of the 10 hours at least and we end up there knowing exactly what we’re doing, exactly what the whole story is.”

That sucks but it is understandable, no to mention the fact that this show looked like it was going to cancelled after the season. Luckily the word of mouth and critical acclaim got in renewed for a third season. Speaking of third season there is some good news in this article. Hawley did drop some tidbits on the plot for season 3 like the time period which will be 2010 and some of the themes:

“I like the idea that we’re now living in a very selfie-oriented culture — people photograph what they’re eating and put it up for other people to see — it feels like a social dynamic that is very antithetical to the Lutheran pragmatism of the region. So much of our crime stories are based around the difficulty people have expressing themselves and communicating.”

I for one will be patiently waiting, Fargo returns in 2017.
