Fox Plans On Remaking ‘The A-Team’ Into TV Series

I pity the fool who doesn’t think this is good news! Ok, that was a little too much, I admit it, but I’m not proud if it. Anyway was if you are fluent in Mr. T you know that what I was trying to say was, rejoice all you A-Team fans because the suits over at 20th Century Fox Television have decided to reboot the classic TV show for the small screen. If you recall back in 2010 the studio tried to make a big budget summer blockbuster out of the property. Although I enjoy the film (I found it dumb, fun, and loud all in good way) many left the film not to impressed, resulting in a failed would-be franchise. Some even went so far as to ask themselves why they even liked the 1980s TV series to begin with. Apparently there was just enough faith in the property to warrant them making a new series. They have tapped Sleepy Hollow writer/producer Albert Kim and  director Tawnia McKiernan to retool the old series and make it something modern audiences will be attracted to. That sounds like a good thing and a bad thing. From the sounds of it they plan on retweaking the format and cast, which means if it’s changed too much it might result in an A-Team we won’t even recognize. My fear is that this thing will turn into another ‘Hawaii Five-0″ which, although incredibly successful, isn’t really a show to phone home about. It’s fairly mediocre and overall pretty generic. ‘The A-Team’ can be a lot of fun as long as they don’t forget it’s heart and soul, which was the chemistry between it’s four, wacky leads, and the fact the bad guys couldn’t hit hit the broad side of a barn with a bullet. If 20th Century Fox dials back what they did in the theatrical version and made it a little less cartoony than the original than they might find themselves right in the sweet spot.
