Key And Peele Drop The Trailer For Their Debut Film ‘Keanu’

Jordan Peele and Keegan Michael Key ended their critically acclaimed sketch comedy last year and the world is a little less funny because of it. Luckily the comic duo has decided to take their talents to the big screens. I mentioned before that the two have plenty of film projects on the horizon. They are working with stop-motion legend Henry Selick, the guy who brought you ‘Coraline’ and ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’ (yes, Selick directed ANBC not fucking Tim Burton…just so you know) on a project is titled ‘Wendall And Wild’, here are some details on the plot: “Two scheming demon brothers who must face their arch-nemesis, the demon-dusting nun Sister Helly, and her two acolytes, the goth teens Kat and Raoul.” Another project of theirs that I am intrested in, not necessarily looking forward to, is their reboot of the 80’s comedy classic ‘Police Academy’ which they announced back in mid 2014, which is apparently still happening. So needless to say these two will be working on new things for a while, especially if things work out with their debut film ‘Keanu’. If you don’t know what the film is about heres a quick synopsis:

“Friends pose as drug dealers to retrieve a stolen cat.”

Although the plot is simple the trailer shows just what type of comedy this will be. I see a lot of Pineapple Express in this film at least from the trailer. It looks very, very violent and equally as funny. I also like the fact that it’s showing black people from different walks of life, the straight edge suburban guy and the “thug” from the “bad side of town.” Seeing how Key and Peele are behind this, I have faith that it will more than just dumb, slapstick comedy. From the trailer it looks like an extended sketch from an old episode of ‘Key and Peele’ and I’m perfectly OK with that.
