Michael Bay To Direct “One More” Transformers Movie

Just to warn you this only one of two Michael Bay stories…I know but news is slow and this is kind of important for a couple of reasons. It turns out that Michael Bay will in fact be directing ‘Transformers 5.’ It was speculated that Bay would not be returning to the franchise after the studio decided it wanted to go a slightly different direction with the property like actually making it good. Last year it was said that the studio was getting a brain trust together to take the franchise in a whole other direction. The brain trust was led by Akiva Goldsman and they had a simple goal. Goldsman told Deadline back then that:

“The whole process of the story room was really delightful, and we are seeing it more in movies as this moves toward serialized storytelling… We’re trying to beg, borrow and steal from the best of them, and gathered a group of folks interested in developing and broadening this franchise. There is a central corridor of movies that has been proceeding quite well, but our challenge will be to answer, where do we go from here?”

After hearing that I almost gave Hasbro and Paramount the benefit of the doubt, but what the fuck was I thinking? Michael Bay decided, “Nope, Transformers is my bitch” and it seems he’s put all that different direction shit to bed, he said:

“I’m doing Transformers … 5, is it? I’ve taken on a lot of work. … It’s fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else. J.J. [Abrams] told me, ‘You’re the only guy that could do this.’ But it’s time to move on. One more.”

Goddamn it J.J. Abrams! Sit your ass down and focus on Star Wars, thanks to you we have to deal with another Michael Bay Transformers movie.
