We like to save the trailers for Trailer Tuesday, but when ‘Justice League’ dropping we just can’t wait that long. We’ll also take a look at ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’, the chaos over McDonald’s Rick and Morty szechuan sauce, a week of even more sexual assault in the entertainment biz, the Top 5 Box Office, and more.
I hope that you guys talk about Andy Signore from Screen Junkies. I’ve been watching them for about a year or two and I always liked those guys, so hearing about the predatory patterns of sexual harassment/sexual assaults from Andy hit a bit close to home. I can’t say that I’m shocked or dismayed since abuses of power happen so often, but it is a bit disheartening when you hear about this happening from people you considered one of your own and to people you consider one of your own. A big time movie producer is expected, but a fellow film fan who is famous for talking to friends about movies is just surreal. He abused the trust of fans and co-workers/employees and has tainted the waters for me. They say you should never meet your heroes, and this has caused to me, rightly or wrongly, to question everybody that I regularly watch. I would like to say that I don’t expect those people to do these kinds of things, but as proven by Andy you just never really know until you know.
Yeah I’m with you. I hope he didn’t do it. Haven’t heard much about it except that his lawyers are on it and they’ve been adament about his innocence. Which I guess is better than being silent
Oh please, the new testament introduces the concept of hell: infinite punishment for finite crimes. Jesus in, sermon of the mount , says not a jot or tittle of the old testament laws will go away until heaven and earth pass away. He continues to say if you break the least of these laws you will be the least in heaven. Lastly, any actual benefit of religion can be done without religion. You don’t need religion to go out and volunteer for your community.
‘Pacific Rim’ kind of gets more shit than it deserves. in my opinion. Though to be fair, I loved it the first time I saw it but after thinking about it a bit, it slowly worked it’s way to me finding it a bit worse. I still like it though and I will defend it for its silliness and lapses in logic just because it’s so entertaining on a visceral level. Really, the biggest flaw to me, was the lack of a truly interesting character, so this sequel, even though it looks even dumber, may improve upon the first one just by virtue of John Boyega, if he ends up being a decent enough character. I was worried about Guillermo Del Toro not directing it, but it could end up an improvement after all. And I liked Ron Pearlman and Charlie Day, they were at least fun characters compared to our lead.
Oh and speaking of ‘Rick and Morty,’ I love the show but I totally see why the fan base is getting a bit too rabid for its own good, like with much of geek culture in general. The creators definitely didn’t intend for this. By the way, ‘Pickle Rick’ is an overrated episode, it’s the worst one of season 3 (it’s still a decent episode nonetheless, just less good than all of the others)! Stop writing “PICKLE RICK!” on every comment section that is even vaguely related to the show!
I think it’s pretty shitty you guys are shitting on people for hanging out waiting for sauce. Let them enjoy themselves. It’s a chance for people that are like-minded to hangout together and talk about something they enjoy. Yes, the way they reacted is absolutely ridiculous and stupid. I am only replying to your sentiments about how other people spend their time and why it would even bother you. I waste my time listening and paying for this podcast, I am sure a lot of people would find that ridiculous and a waste of time.
People always forget that Jesus said this in the New Testament.
“Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.
