FX’s mega hit anthology series American Horror Story hasn’t even kicked off it’s season five premiere, which is on October 7th in case you were wondering, and creator Ryan Murphy is already dropping some big news on upcoming seasons. He recently told Entertainment Weekly that next year may feature two seasons of the show in a single year.

“Next year we might do a fall American Horror Story and a spring, we have to decide…We’re doing something that we’ve never done before on the show where we’re doing two different groups of writers rooms. Some of our writers will be bouncing around but a whole different group coming in late August. The next thing we’re crafting up is very, very different than this. Not smaller. But just not opulent. More rogue and more dark.”

Last year during AHS: Freak Show, which was the highest rated season of the show, Murphy said he wanted season five to involve UFOs. He even posted cryptic photos on social media hinting toward an extraterrestrial filled fifth season. I’m sure that idea is still fresh on his mind. More importantly it seems he’s ready to start putting the “all seasons are connected” angle in there. As far as I know, no anthology series has ever done anything like that (if I’m wrong I’m sure you’ll tell me). With all his talk about doing something “rogue and different” it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s what he was up to with these dual seasons. For those of you who can’t watch the show without Jessica Lange, who recently announced she was “done” with ATS, Murphy has good news for you too. He also told Entertainment Weekly regarding Lange:

“I’ve been talking to her…It’s always possible. I’m trying to deal with her play schedule. Jessica is always about the character. She’ll be back—she’s not gone forever. But that’s the fun and fresh thing about the show: sometimes somebody has to go away before you realize how much you miss them. She wants to come back we just have to come up with something.”

So there you go American Horror Story fans, I don’t think a TV show has ever given it’s fans do much in  one day, it’s like Christmas just with murder and sadism instead of presents and egg nog.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres October 7, 2015.
