Will Smith Gives Update on ‘Bad Boys 3’

I gotta admit, one of my all time favorite action films is Bad Boys 2, I’d have to rank it number 2. Number 3 would have to the original Bad Boys, that’s right I love BOTH Bad Boys films and I’m not ashamed! Whoo, that felt good, glad I got that off my chest. Anyway, the third installment in what I describe as the best action franchise ever (alright I won’t go that far) will be here a lot sooner than the think. I know what you’re thinking, “filmmakers always say movies are getting made soon but something always comes up and so on and so forth.” Well this time, it’s the source that makes this story so exciting. Big Willy himself Will Smith delivered a much appreciated update on ‘Bad Boys 3’ on Zane Lowe’s show over at Beats 1,”There is a very, very, very strong possibility that you will be seeing a ‘Bad Boys’ within the next 12-16 months.” Smith said. The film currently does have a Feburary 17, 2017 release date so that would be on the right track. This thing really does seem like a priority to Smith who, lets be honest, is the one name that matters the most on this project. Michael Bay would be missed if he didn’t direct but other directors can mimic his style and as for Martin Lawrence, he too his a must…sort of. If he were absent and replaced with say, Kevin Hart, would people really mind all that much? Hell, that actually sounds kind of interesting. It’s funny that Will Smith has turned down being in sequels for both ‘Men in Black’ and ‘Independence Day’ but he seems adamant on making sure ‘Bad Boys 3’ gets made and I for one couldn’t be happier to see where his priorities are. I’m digging this post ‘After Earth’ Will Smith, he’s making bolder, funnier choices in his roles and I for one can’t wait to see what Mike Lowery is up to in 2017.
