Check Out The Bad Ass Second Trailer To ‘The Revenant’

I actually just watched the trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s upcoming frontier thriller ‘The Revenant’ so let me just say HOLY FUCKIN’ SHIT!…Ok I’m good now. 20th Century Fox released the second trailer for the film today and after seeing it I can honestly say my anticipation meter is off the charts. If you’re unfamiliar with the plot heres a synopsis courtesy of CinemaBlend:

“Set in the American frontier in 1823, The Revenant – based on a 2003 novel by Michael Punke – follows fur trapper Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) after he recovers from a bear attack in the Dakota Territory. His companions – led by fellow powerhouse actor Tom Hardy – murder his son and leave him to die, unaware that he survives the incident. The rest of the film will follow Glass’ journey through the treacherous wilderness to find his former partners and seek revenge. Along the way he encounters violent Native Americans, vicious animal attacks, and a generally unrelenting world that wants to see him dead.”

The trailer is about as intense and gut-wrenching as they come. It’s almost like a two and a half minute roller coaster ride. From the trailer alone I can tell this film is like nothing I’ve ever really seen. Some shots are so visceral and in-your-face, it’s almost horrifying when you watch, for example the scene in which Leonardo DiCaprio is being mauled by a fucking bear. The scene is edited down for the green band trailer, but is still bone crunching and brutal, so you can only imagine how violent it’ll be in the actual film.  The acting looks absolutely top-notch, I already hate Tom Hardy’s ass which is excellent. The fact that this is at it’s core a revenge thriller also gets me giddy. It seems to be a story of a man who will go threw hell just for the sake of sweet revenge and I don’t know about you but to me that’s sounds like a thing of beauty.
