Check Out Weird But Funny ‘Zoolander 2’ Trailer

720x405-465768242

To all you ‘Zoolander’ fans out there, all four of you will find this article amazing. Mainly because it contains the trailer for the upcoming ‘Zoolander 2’ starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. It’s been about 15 years since the last film and personally I was never a fan of it. It was one of those films that everyone was going ape-shit over and I felt like I just didn’t get it. The sad part was I tried over and over again, even buying the film just to try and force myself into liking, just so I didn’t look like the dumb kid at school. After a while I discovered I wasn’t the dumb kid, those other motherfuckers were because the movie, although I don’t hate it, isn’t really all that good. ‘Zoolander’ was a precursor to the ‘frat pack’ movies we got in the years following ‘Zoolander’ such as: ‘Old School’, ‘Starsky and Hutch’, ‘Dodgeball’ and ‘Anchorman’ just to name a few. But hey, nothing bets the originator right? Apparently someone thought so because we know have ‘Zoolander 2’ and if you’re wondering what the plot of this thing is well, this is what star Ben Stiller had to say:

“Most of it is set in Europe, I don’t want to give away too much, but it’s basically Derek and Hansel 10 years later, though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime.Their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore. It’s a new world for them. Will Ferrell is written into the script and he’s expressed interest in doing it. I think Mugatu is an integral part of the Zoolander story, so yes, he features in a big way.”

By the look of the trailer that last tidbit seems evident, Ferrell looks like he was crowbarred into the film and it doesn’t seem all that funny, at least from the trailer. I found only one part of this trailer actually funny  and that was Benedict Cumberbatch’s androgynous model who has been named the ‘world’s most beautiful model’. I’m actually still laughing about that. There was enough here to give the film a chance when it opens in theaters on February 12.
