Christopher Nolan Plans On Dropping Next Film in 2017

All you members of the church of Nolan, rejoice! Director Christopher Nolan has announced he’s planning on dropping his follow up to 2013’s Interstellar. The movie doesn’t have a title yet but it does have a release date, July 21, 2017. The fact that Warner Brothers gave him a release date that’s the equivalent to prime real estate in the movie industry. The movie will come out in the heart of summer, it’s also the same slot of his last two Dark Knight films and Inception. If there is one filmmaker the studio seems to trust completely it’s Nolan and rightfully so. He’s taken full advantage of Warner Brothers unspoken rule, that if you make them a billion dollars you can basically get to make whatever movie idea that pops into your head. It’s actually not a bad deal, I don’t many major Hollywood studios that do that anymore. Warner Bros. has always been loyal to those who have enhanced their brand and Nolan maybe the most noble. You may remember something similar happening with Zack Snyder and the Wachowskis. The success of 300 and the Matrix trilogy was so great WB issued out golden tickets for both parties. Unfortunately, those tickets bought such duds as: Speed Racer, Watchmen, Cloud Atlas, and Sucker Punch. Nolan on the other hand doesn’t seem to have that problem. He’s made the most of his free passes giving us films like Inception and Interstellar. Hopefully his next film will also be original, he seems to have a grasp on his originality. It never seem to go off the rails, unlike the Wachowskis’ and Snyder’s original films. The untitled movie will have some stiff competition when it’s released. It’s going up against Valerian and Pitch Perfect 3. No word yet on the story or the cast.
