‘Heroes: Reborn’ Is Killing Off A Major Character – The Daily Double Talk

So if that whole “save the cheerleader save the world” thing still applies it looks like we’re all fucked. As we all know Heroes: Reborn is coming and show creator Tim Kring has made no qualms about the fact that some original cast members will not be in the new series. But one in particular has people talking not so much because the actress won’t be returning to the show but the fact that if she did she probably won’t be able to because they have already officially killed off her character before the show has even started. That’s right been a.k.a. America’s favorite cheerleader is no more. According to Kring, Claire dies before the events of the new show and she seems to be something of a catalyst for a lot of the original characters, be it motivation or revenge. The series is clearly going to be a lot darker than it’s original counterpart. It opens with a terrorist attack on Odessa, Texas which many of you may remember was claire’s hometown and where she apparently dies.

The show will mainly focus on the events after that terrorist attack and how the world has turned on the specials (our heroes) blaming them and their powers on the attack. I am curious to see how a character who is known to regenerate herself and was practically indestructible ends up dead. Maybe that’ll be a mystery in the show which would be pretty cool. It’s no secret that the original series suffered greatly mainly because of the writers strike. The show started off with great momentum in its first season but took something is of a nosedive and never recovered causing NBC to cancel it after only five seasons. But with its rabid and loyal fan base and a limitless amount of potential NBC decided to give it another shot which I’m happy about because it was always that show that had you asking yourself “how can you guys fuck this up”. Yet week after week they did just that in glaring fashion. Let’s just hope they learn from their mistakes and Heroes: Reborn will be with the original Heroes should have been. Heroes: Reborn premieres on NBC September 24.
