Keanu Reeves Gives Details ‘John Wick 2’

I, like most of you out there, was totally caught off guard by the 2014 action thriller ‘John Wick’. I mean, Keanu Reeves as an assassin who takes revenge on the men who killed his dog. It sounded absolutely ridiculous even for an action-comedy which ‘John Wick’ was not. But, instead of something akin to one of the later ‘Transporter’ films we got something else, something that was actually…good. As over the top, cheesy, or just down right dumb as if got, ‘John Wick’ just worked. It didn’t press the gas too hard and it didn’t press it too softly, it was a very nice balance. Thats why when they announced a sequel was in the works, while the original was still in theaters, it made me a little nervous. By all accounts the film looks like an accident, like I said everything just seemed to work but something like ‘John Wick’ can go off the rails quickly, we’ve seen with films like ‘Hitman: Agent 47’ and ‘Transporter: Refueled’. But it seems that if this second film succeeds, it’s because Keanu Reeves is gonna be the man to keep it on track. Reeves recently sat down with Collider to give some details on the John Wick’s next adventure:

“To me, there’s John Wick and then there’s John. You know, John is the married guy whose wife just died, and that five years of his life. Then there’s John Wick, who’s the mythical assassin. In this, John Wick’s past comes and infiltrates John’s life and John Wick, in a way, has to fight for John…There’s definitely that influence of the other world, the Continental world, the look, the feel, what it is about the movie, what made people like it; is definitely being paid attention to, and the world opens up in this chapter.”

Well I’m definitely looking forward to that. ‘John Wick 2’ is due out later next year, although no date is set.
