Kermit and Miss Piggy Officially Split…Sort of – The Daily Double Talk
FUCK, FUCK, FUCK! Now my childhood is officially ruined. Hollywood’s most beloved power couple has broken up. That’s right Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy have to decided to call it quits after almost forty years. Kermit tweeted the following statement:
“After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, we have
made the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship. We will continue to
work together on television (“The Muppets” Tuesdays 8/7c this fall on ABC) and in all
media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, throughout the universe. However,
our personal lives are now distinct and seperate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs, frogs,
et al. This is our only comment on this private matter…unless we get the right offer. Thank you
for your understanding.”
Following in the footsteps off Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner and most recently Nicki Minaj and that one rapper who is currently hiding under a rock, Kermit and Miss Piggy’s sudden break up came as a surprise to us, (unlike the other two mentioned) theirs was a love only—Wait…it’s only publicity for the show you say? Excuse me why I breath a sigh of relief. Yep, turns out the two aren’t really, technically broken up or maybe they are, I take it the only way to truly know for sure is to tune into the Muppets newest show titled well…The Muppets. It’s only been about a year since we last saw the modern reinvention of the Jim Henson’s iconic characters in Muppets Most Wanted. In my opinion the most recent Muppet movies lacked the energy and heart of the older movies (The Great Muppet Caper or The Muppets Take Manhattan). Hopefully their latest show will bring back some of the charm the older 1976 The Muppet Show had. We will definitely get our chance to find out this fall when the The Muppets premieres on Tuesday, September 22nd at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time on ABC.
