MUST SEE: AMC Drops New ‘Preacher’ Trailer!

Let me start off by saying, FUCK YEAH! We have the first trailer for AMC’s newest and one of their boldest upcoming television series, ‘Preacher’ based on the amazing Garth Ennis graphic novel of the same name. Seth Rogan, yeah that Seth Rogan, decided ‘Preacher’ had to be turned into a TV show and that he and buddy/producing partner Evan Goldberg were hellbent on doing it. They showed the pilot script around and sure enough AMC took the bait. Shows like ‘Preacher’, ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘The Walking Dead’, and ‘Into The Badlands’ are the exact reason why I feel AMC is the best network on TV right now. I say this being a HUGE fan of HBO and how they take more chances with their programming, but looking at the variety and diversity of some of AMC series’ it’s hard to deny. But enough about AMC, lets talk about the show that they’ve created here.  Looking at the trailer, some might take this series as something it’s not. At first glance, it just seems like the story of a shady, but badass preacher with a shady, but badass past. We see a kid ask him to hurt his abusive father and the preacher is so intense he scares the kid. That sounds kind of interesting, if that were the plot of preacher but that ain’t even close. I can’t come close to describing the plot of this fucking story, it gets insane and if they stick with the comic you’re in for a treat. But what I can tell you is that the trailer misses out of the biggest thing in Preacher universe and that’s the supernatural element which is what Preacher is about. It’s basically the story of a guy, his vampire buddy, and his ex searching for god so that they can pretty much take him out. See that’s that boldness I was talking about. I for one can’t wait for this show, I wish I could set my DVR now but unfortuantely I, like you, have to wait for ‘Preacher’ to premieres sometime in 2016.
