New Trailer For ‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’ Just Dropped
Goddamn it Frozen! Can we go one year…just one YEAR without any mention of an Ice Queen or a frozen kingdom that desperately needs to be thawed. That’s right this time around instead of Snow White, who apparently as has gotten the fuck out of dodge since taking out the evil queen, we have Freya the Ice Queen, although I dare you not to call her Elsa at least once. Watching the trailer you may get a little confused and wonder, “is this a prequel or a sequel?” Well technically it’s a sequel but it appears they’ll delve into life before the events of ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ as well. Here’s a plot description:
Long before the evil Queen Ravenna was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya, suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya’s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen – including Eric and warrior Sara – only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love. When Freya learns of her sister’s demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. But once she discovers Ravenna can be resurrected from its golden depths, the wicked sisters threaten this enchanted land with twice the darkest force it’s ever seen. Now, their amassing army shall prove undefeatable…unless the banished huntsmen who broke their queen’s cardinal rule can fight their way back to one another.
After watching the trailer I gotta say, I could give two shits about this story. It looks like a combination of popular fantasy troupes and a Neapolitan of popular fairy tale and fantasy characters. Seriously, where the fuck did the Ice Queen thing come from, there was no hint toward another queen in this kingdom being capable of freezing everything. But despite that, like Snow White, this may be slightly better than people think, only time will tell.
