Quentin Tarantino Says He’s Got “Two More Movies In Him”

If you know anything about me than you now I have a very love/hate type of vibe when it comes to legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. For those of you who don’t know me than allow me to explain myself, back in late October I wrote an article on Tarantino protesting against police brutality and the LAPD and NYPD threatening to boycott his upcoming film ‘The Hateful Eight’. In that article I expressed my personal feelings on the QT:

Quentin Tarantino is a polarizing figure in my life. I have to honestly say I don’t think there is an artist that has influenced me more than he has. When I was just a young wet, behind the ears kid who simply loved writing and filmmaking and QT was a big reason why. I love most of his films, so much so I can put many of them on a loop and just watch them all day. On the other hand though, he can be frustrating.

I still feel that way, in my opinion, Tarantino started out with an originality that has dissipated over the years. Lately he’s relied on nostalgia, an odd grindhouse style and a departure into the world of westerns. The thing about artist’s is that they can recognize when they experience a drop off in the quality of their art. Many felt that Tarantino himself didn’t recognize what many film buffs have started to. So it came as no surprise when he announced on Jimmy Kimmel that he has about two films left in him. He said:

“If I only think that I only have two movies, well, that keeps it at the tip of the spear, if you know what I mean…That means those ones better be good and I better mean everything about them.”

Well, if we only got two left, I can’t wait to see them. It might be an end of an era.
