Steve Harvey Might Be Hosting Miss Universe Next Year…Fingers Crossed

You can’t say people aren’t all bout second chances these days.  Now it’s no way in  hell you haven’t seen ‘Family Feud’ host Steve Harvey completely crash and burn during his stint as Miss Universe MC. If by some chance your comatose ass did miss it let me recap for you. Now, to be fair Harvey had done a great job up until the end of the show, arguable the most important moment. When it was time to announce the next Miss Universe that’s when the king of suits fucked up. Instead of announcing Miss Philippines as the winner he announced Miss Columbia only to apologize moments after the teary eyed Miss Columbia accepted the sash, bouquet of flowers, and most importantly the crown. During her victory bow, Harvey interrupted with the apology. From then on things just got more awkward as the audience gasped and both Miss Columbia and Miss Philippines looked on with confusion and heartbreak. As Harvey dashed backstage the broadcast abruptly ended, leaving things on an even more awkward note. If you thought it was over you’d be wrong, the next day Harvey tweeted an apology in which he called Miss Philippines, Miss Phillipians, which is something in the Bible not a country in Asia.

Even after all that though Mark Shapiro, the Chief Content Officer at WME IMG who took over Miss Universe from Donald Trump, came to Harvey’s defense and even said something VERY surprising:

Absolutely, absolutely. If anything, I’m sure Fox would support it, because as I said, he did a great job. He was funny, he was informative, he’s high energy, he’s got a great following. The man is wildly successful in all different walks of life, with books and radio and television and so on. I definitely want him back and I would hate to see him not come back. He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself.

So there you have it. Theres a good chance you haven’t seen the last of Steve Harvey at the Miss Universe Pageant.
