‘Supergirl’ Just Added A Major DC Hero To The Show

Supergirl-Martian-Manhunter-Hank-Henshaw

Ok look, I know everyone is either on the “I love Supergirl” bandwagon or the “I hate Supergirl” bandwagon…admittedly I fall into the latter. My point is I only express that when prompted, what I guess I’m trying to say is I only talk shit when I absolutely, positively can’t bite my tongue…and this is unfortunately one of those moments. I guess I should tell you SPOILER ALERT and give you a disclaimer about not reading from this point forward, but oh look I just did. If you watched last nights episode which I did not then you know the show just gave it’s audience a pretty legit twist in the form of one of DC’s most popular superheros. That hero you ask? None other than Martian Manhunter himself. I personally love MM and was pretty pissed to see him used in a show that looks it should be airing on the Disney Channel but alas here we are. I for one thought you could’ve made an entire show based on him alone. But it turns out the producers had this in the works from jump Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg explained:

“You start seeing the sets, and you start seeing the actors, and you start thinking about, well, what we could do next and all the different possibilities there could be. It was like, “Oh, if we were ever going to make a Martian Manhunter show or something, David [Harewood] would’ve been the perfect Martian Manhunter.” And it was Geoff [Johns] who said, “Well, why can’t he be?’” He went on, “We already had the Hank Henshaw idea set up that we would be playing this sort of bad secret that he was holding. Then we started thinking about it. It was like, ‘Oh, well, wait a minute. What if it’s a good secret?’”

I can’t lie this actually is the best thing for Supergirl the show, Martian Manhunter is surely a character people will want to see.
